How will I know if the school district is doing what it says it will do with the money?

Updated: Oct 8, 2020

A Citizen Oversight Committee will review the spending, progress and completion of all projects. They will regularly review all records to make sure money is spent as promised.

Board policy requires that each member be a resident of Duval County and enjoy an outstanding reputation for civic involvement, integrity, responsibility and business or professional ability. Other than a representative of Duval Teachers United, members cannot be employed by the district. They cannot have a contract with the district or benefit financially in any way from the projects.

Board Policy 9.66 -- which governs the Citizen Oversight Committee -- is available for download below.
